Roxx Revolt was born in Venezuela under the name of Roxette Barrios to mother Raiza Roa and father Ricardo Barrios. She is the first of two children and has a younger brother.

It wasn’t long before Roxx showed an innate inclination toward music and told her parents that she wanted a piano. She was only five years old at the time.

As time passed it became clear that Roxx’s love of music was far more than a hobby or passing phase. At age twelve, she was already writing original music and by age fourteen, she was playing in local bands.

At age twenty-three, Roxx moved to the US in May of 2014 to pursue a more serious career in music.

As a focused artist, Roxx has outlined specific short and long term goals for Roxx Revolt & The Velvets, but she will be the first to tell you that the music itself is and will always be at the very center of everything she does.
As Roxx pursues both her musical aspirations and the ‘American dream’ itself, she is virtually unable to recount a time when she wanted something other than to be a singer, artist, and entertainer. Up until now, Roxx has lived her musical journey to the absolute fullest and has spent enumerable time both creating and learning about music.  Likewise, Roxx describes her music as a representation of energy that can travel around and ‘move the masses’ regardless of people’s race, beliefs, age, etc. She explains that when the energy is pure and honest and unfiltered from any bullshit, that it becomes a universal form of expression and ultimately connects us all. A few of Roxx’s bigger musical influences are Marc Bolan, Axl Rose, Courtney Love, Jim Morrison, and Mick Jagger.
